Please provide us with a brief overview of your career:
I came into the industry with a strong academic background. I earned my Phd in Mathematical Modeling of BiChemical systems and later worked as a research scientist at University of Miami as well as University of Southern California. Along my journey I had a privilege to work with many world class scientists, one among them was Prof. Arieh Warshel who was a Nobel Laurate in 2013. I published more than 30 international publications and served as a reviewer and editor for many international journals which include journals like ACS, PNAS etc. With the computational background I have, I evolved as an AI and data science specialist organically and I must say that my scholarly approach towards the data science problems is one of the factors differentiated me from any other seasoned data science specialists.
I worked across multiple industries including Life Sciences and Healthcare. I am specialized in designing and development of end-to-end data products (that includes building large scale AI systems, AI as a service products, data monitoring and quality assessment systems, analytic dash boards using simple to advanced analytics etc.). In the process, I collaborate and work very closely with Business Analysts, data engineers, data scientists, ML Engineers, infra teams and visualization specialists and make sure we are gathering all the requirements, extracting the right data, designing optimal ETL processes, computing the KPIs in a right way and presenting right data elements to the business to track etc. Also I work with the infra team to make sure the dash boards / AI model services are consistent and are highly available!
How did you get involved with AI?
With the mathematical modeling and computational background I have through my research works, I evolved as an AI and data science specialist organically and I must say that my scholarly approach towards the data science problems is one of the factors differentiated me from any other seasoned data science specialists.
How do you apply AI in your daily work activities?
Continuous building of business specific AI models, model deployments, model tracking, model refinements, and real time validations of deployed models etc.
How has AI impacted your business and industry?
Within healthcare, AI enabled to build ML based technical frameworks which allowed to address some of the long standing issues such as personalized care, care management, next best recommendations etc.
Are you doing anything interesting with AI in your work?
Building transformative AI systems which can impact the entire landscape of healthcare industry.
